What’s your story? Here at LLOTP, we care about your stories in your own voices. They lift and define who you are and who we are as a community. Got a news tip, story, happening, or event to tell us that Lao folks should know about? It only takes one compelling journey, reflection, story to be a contributing bLaogger. We want to make it easier for you to get your voice heard. Complete the story form below. Open to everyone and anyone from anywhere in the world.
While we do all the hard editing in-house, please try to:
- Write 1,000 words or less
- Know who, what, when, where
- Check all facts, names, spelling
- Send at least 1-2 good quality photos with your story to editor@littlelaos.org (format: digital JPGs are best but scans, screenshots, your chicken-scratch drawing, etc is OK).
Be open, honest and candid. We don’t care if you don’t want to reveal yourself. Use a fake name. We don’t care if your English grammar and spelling isn’t amazing. Ours isn’t either. As long as you have a story to share, then that’s all that matters. If you have longer submissions for consideration, email it to us directly. All content gets featured on our Facebook and Twitter, which has over 1,000 followers. If we need clarification, we’ll get in touch with you. Now, get to the writing board!
PLEASE READ: 1) If your writing is outright racist, sexist, or harmful to humanity in any way; then we won’t publish it. Because as Lao Americans, we already deal enough of that shit on a daily basis. 2) As an independent community media org, we are solely the messenger. Just because we publish diverse stories in this section doesn’t mean we endorse the views of the contributing writers. We’re not going to be held responsible. Plain and simple. Thanks for understanding, khon dee.
