Are you salivating yet? Cool Jerk is back!

After a brief hiatus, the popular Lao Minnesotan beef jerky will be returning in time for the holiday season with all new packaging, a new processor, and the same great taste fans know and love. Artists Mali Kouanchao and Mike Davis started Cool Jerk in the Spring of 2010 as a way to share their aunt’s homemade Lao-style beef jerky with the rest of the world. She has been making sweet and savory beef jerky for almost 20 years, using seasoning and preparation techniques used in recipes from her home country of Laos. In short time, the distinctive taste has won fans across the country, from California to Washington, New York and D.C.  It’s even had guest appearances in the popular Lao American play, Refugee Nation!

It’s one of the newest Lao-owned companies to come onto the scene and has demonstrated there is a market for Lao culture and cuisine. Community member are already buzzing about what the next steps are. While there’s no word yet if a major professional wrestler will one day tout the amazing flavor, for now the sky’s the limit for these Laontrepreneurs!

Cool Jerk is launching the holiday season with a customer appreciation party on Saturday, November 23rd at CO Exhibitions in Minneapolis from 6:00-9:00pm.
