This month, Amy Senser was sentenced to 41 months in prison for her role in the death of Anousone Phanthavong in a highly publicized trial. Many noticed that this sentencing was just days after the 30th anniversary since the death of Vincent Chin, whose killers never served a day in prison. At the same time, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made a historic visit to Laos, the first time in 57 years. It was also the traditional Boun Phra Vet celebration for many Lao American communities across the country. We present our haiku of the week in response.
