Oh no, it’s not Cinco de Mayo this Saturday. Well, it is, but instead the Lao Student Association at the University of Minnesota is celebrating the New Year with a Spring Festival. The members of LSA have worked really hard to put together a cultural event with free entry, free food, and entertainment. This event marks the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Lao Student Association.
Every year the LSA put together a Lao New Year celebration, and this year, they are putting on something a little different. From talking to current LSA members, I hear there is going to be a skit dealing with growing up Lao American and going back to our roots. I am intrigued and curious to see what it’s all going to be about.
LSA needs volunteers as well as support for the event. As with being a part of any student group, I know that it’s difficult to juggle being a student and a group leader. I’m calling all alumni of LSA to attend and to help out. I’m calling all blog readers to go and support these college students. ~Danny
